Mojgan Mirisaee is a visual artist, instructor, researcher, and art entrepreneur based in Muscat, Oman. She is the founder of Batik Art Studio and co-founder of MiSaZi Art Gallery where she has been working closely with disadvantage artists residing in small towns and rural areas of Iran. She completed her BA in painting and holds two MA degrees, one in painting and one in art studies.

This interactive workshop series introduces various printmaking techniques including batik, echo-print, monoprint, relief, etching, digital and hybrid methods. Students learn to apply the various methods to their personal topic of interest to create original print based imagery that demonstrates formal, conceptual, historical and contemporary consideration.
Suminagashi is a novel way of practicing active meditation. While mixing the colors, students step outside of themselves and explore improvisation with ink and liberate themselves from their thinking minds. Learning about form, composition, and principles of design, students enhance their decision making skills and learn to trust their inner feelings during their art work creation.

With a focus on classical painting skills, in this workshop series, students use their imagination and learn how to develop a full figure painting which departs creatively from the initial photographic references. Students explore diverse aspects of painting a traditional portrait including achieving a likeness as well as light and shade.
