Jamal Arabzadeh

 Jamal Arabzade, assistant professor at Visual Arts Faculty of Tehran University of Art, is an artist, researcher, and art curator. A graduate of Visual Arts, University of Strasbourg, Dr. Arabzade practices different artistic mediums including painting and photography to address the issues of light and shadow in space. His research and teaching combine a number of different fields, such as phenomenology and aesthetics; critical analysis of illustrated manuscripts; and intercultural approaches to the study of contemporary artists.

Being very active in Iran’s art scene, Jamal has served in a number of senior positions including the Artistic Director for the 12th edition of the Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts, Vice President of the Iranian Painters Society, the Scientific and Educational Director of the Farabi International Campus at Tehran University of Art, and the Head of the Painting Department of Tehran University of Art.
